Find-A-Grave

I know this is kinda morbid, but it is kinda cool. Find-A-Grave is a website that lets you find out where famous people are buried. I guess you could plan a vacation with the help with this site. it includes pictures, maps, and a shopping page.

How to handle hecklers

This is a collection of 9 videos showing various people handling hecklers in the audience. I loved Joe Rogan's way of doing it, and Kevin Smith was just great as well!

Here's a candy bar quiz. See if you can identify them by the cross-section.

Fail!

Failblog is a website that highlights pictures and videos of people and animals that try to do things but fall short of their goal, whatever that might be. I've seen the pictures all over the 'net, but never went to the site until a friend sent me the link.

Weird Knowledge

There's a website that's really cool for weird and strange trivia topics. It's called The Straight Dope. It's written by Cecil Adams who writes for the Chicago Reader. There are several books that are collections of his column. Basically, it's people writing in to him and asking really oddball questions like: "Why aren't porn actors charged with prostitution?", "What is the sound of one hand clapping?" , and "How would the U.S. Military fight a zombie army?".

What's The Harm?

I just watched a Penn Says on YouTube and he mentioned this website:

http://whatstheharm.net/

It has many topics and points out some of the problems that happen when you believe in certain things. It doesn't try to disprove anything or say that these beliefs are all bad. They just report the negative consequences that's happened to people who have tried these things. The site does try to promote critical thinking, which seems to be disappearing in today's modern society.

Lux Interior

Yesterday, Lux Interior passed away from a pre-existing heart condition in Glendale, CA.
He was the lead singer for the Garage Punk/Trash Rock/Psychobilly group The Cramps. I wasn't heavily into them, but I did have their album Bad Music for Bad People, which is a compilation of their better songs.

One of their most infamous stunts was giving a free concert inside the California State Mental Hospital in Napa. The video can be seen on YouTube. Below is a video for their song Love Me, which has Betty Paige footage as the video part.

Tip for Today

The other week, I moved a lot of files from my old hard drive to my newer one. There were some files that could only be played on RealPlayer. So, I downloaded the newest version of RealPlayer and looked at the files, and didn't think much more about it.

Then I started looking at videos on YouTube. A little tab popped up and asked if I would like to download the video I was watching. I thought 'what the hell', and tried it out. Now I can download just about any video I want from any website. The link is where you can download the player.
